Raj, this understanding that people are giving excuses is completely incorrect.
There is this issue of being irresponsible and there is another case where you cannot find your direction....
Each one of us are raised differently and our powers too are different.
Poor parents raise children to make them slaves. What else can they do? And don’t expect miracles here when they aren't even empowered by powerless parents. Similar is the case of middle class. Your point may fit only the very rich....
