Conventional Depreciation calculations do not take into consideration the actual usage of a vehicle, but rather a predetermined method based on standard assumptions about most of the parameters.
Besides, the resale companies buy cars for throwaway prices from owners and sell them for a decent profit margins for themselves. The whole logic is flawed.
